Update from Pastor James – 3-23-20

What a strange season we are in! May we always remember that God is good, faithful, and sovereign in ALL seasons.

When I heard about the Ohio “shelter-in” my mind went to these two passages –

James 4:13-15Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”

I am just a vapor that appears for a brief moment. Who am I to know what will happen tomorrow? Who would have thought 1 1/2 weeks ago we would be told to stay home? God is in control. We trust Him.

The other passage was Ephesians 5:16making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.

We need to make the best use of the time God has given us in this season of slowing down. Let us be prayerful, practical, and purposeful. There are great opportunities to represent Jesus to a non-believing world walking in fear.

In this season:

We will be stopping all face to face small groups. For those technology minded, there are multiple apps that can be used or use phones to call in to still “meet”. Contact your small group leader to see. Feel free to contact Rene’ Amador with any questions concerning apps. He recommends the Zoom app – 419-966-2904.

We will still livestream the church services at 10:00 AM on Sunday and 7:00 PM on Wednesday. According to the state of Ohio, religious entireties are considered ‘essential’ and I can still go to church to do that. For full disclosure, it will just be myself there and my son Elias running sound. Being from the same household, this will limit any other contacts with any other people.

All personal building uses at church are on hold. Sorry for any inconvenience. Please contact Pat Rutter with any questions – (567) 250-0204.

For this season, the church will only be used for the Sunday and Wednesday livestream. For those with church keys, we ask that you respect that.

If you are in need of any necessities and cannot go out, let us know. We can swing by and drop off the items outside your house. We will not come in, but will call you when we are there and drop them off at your door. Let us be Spirit led on ways to represent Jesus in this time.

We still have our online Instagram study going  – https://www.instagram.com/harvest_419/ – and we will be having another call in Prayer Time next Sunday at 3:00 pm as well. Details on the Facebook page and church website – http://www.harvest-fellowship.com/
