But I am trusting you, O LORD, saying, “You are my God!” My future is in your hands. Psalm 31:14-15

I read this verse recently and thought of the season we are in. This season is reminding us that our whole existence rests in the Lord. Any plans we might have had are completely on hold. Any vacations, sporting commitments, trips, graduations, job security… are up in the air.

It truly is James 4 – Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”

That idea of our plans being a “vapor” may bring fear or anger to some, but on the contrary, let it bring peace. Let it remind us that there is one constant in this world: Christ. We have a tendency to find peace in a plan. Let us find peace in the Lord’s plan. Proverbs 19:21 says: You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail. In this season let us always remember that God is good, faithful, and sovereign.

For He, Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. I Peter 5:7

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:34

Some reminders:

We will be stopping all face to face small groups. For those technology-minded, there are multiple apps that can be used or use phones to call in to still “meet”. Contact your small group leader to see. Feel free to contact Rene’ Amador with any questions concerning apps. He recommends the Zoom app – 419-966-2904.

We will still Livestream the church services at 10:30 AM on Sunday and 7:00 PM on Wednesday. According to the state of Ohio, religious entireties are considered ‘essential’ and I can still go to church to do that. For full disclosure, it will just be myself there and my son Elias running sound. Being from the same household, this will limit any other contacts with any other people.

All personal building uses at church are on hold. Sorry for any inconvenience. Please contact Pat Rutter with any questions – (567) 250-0204.

For this season, the church will only be used for the Sunday and Wednesday Livestream. For those with church keys, we ask that you respect that and limit activity at church to only essential ministries.

If you are in need of any necessities and cannot go out, let us know. We can swing by and drop off the items outside your house. We will not come in but will call you when we are there and drop them off at your door. Let us be Spirit-led on ways to represent Jesus in this time.

We still have our online Instagram study going  – https://www.instagram.com/harvest_419/ – and we will be having another call in Prayer Time next Sunday at 3:00 pm as well. Details on the Facebook page and church website – http://www.harvest-fellowship.com/
